Le Village au Ciel Mauve

One of the boldest skies I have painted — a violet dusk drawn down over the village while the field below still burns gold. Sunflowers, iris and poppy crowd the front, each one painted as though it had insisted on being there.

I rarely let a sky go this far. But once in a while, the evening earns it.
